Marjorie Atkins is currently an independent compensation consultant. She has over 30 years of progressive corporate and consulting experience designing, integrating, and improving compensation programs and processes for Fortune 500 companies such as Mattel, Inc., Disney Consumer Products, and Amgen. Her industry experience includes consumer products, biotechnology, entertainment, technology, and engineering and construction. Her professional mission in the field of total rewards is to drive performance, achieve organizational objectives, and ensure employees feel valued.
Prior to her return to consulting, Marjorie held positions such as Vice President of Global Compensation and Benefits at Deluxe Entertainment and Senior Director of Compensation at Mattel. In these roles she was responsible for the design and implementation of compensation programs to attract, retain, and motivate thousands of employees in more than 40 countries. Oversight included ensuring external market competitiveness and internal consistency. She also oversaw job architecture, career pathing and development, incentive plan design (e.g., bonuses, sales incentives, retention programs), benefit plan selection and administration, global planning processes and practices, reward and recognition programs, stock programs and administration, executive compensation, compliance, system creation and reporting, and the development of employee and management training and communications.
Marjorie earned her MS in industrial psychology from California State University, Los Angeles, and her BA in psychology from California State University, Northridge.
