The velocity and complexity of today’s generative AI landscape requires business professionals and data scientists to embrace a growth mindset. Data professionals must be equipped not only with technical skills, but also the strategic and communication expertise to manage data-driven projects, communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and articulate the business value of the technical projects they produce.

To meet the growing demand of new talent in this transformative field, USC Bovard College is launching a Master of Science in Applied Analytics (MSAA) program with a focus on leveraging applied analytical techniques to enhance business performance. Students will learn to examine essential end-to-end processes of the analytics and AI life cycles, apply them to real-world projects and contribute meaningfully to business performance.

“Recent advances in generative AI have disrupted business on a global scale, leading to an increased need for data analysts and leaders with the technical skills and business insight to utilize data-driven solutions for transformative growth and impact,” Dean Anthony Bailey shared. “USC is proud to introduce this new master’s program designed to empower professionals with the expertise to lead innovative change across industries.”

The student-centric MSAA can be completed in 12 months. The online program is offered in a convenient format for working professionals and includes multiple enrollment dates throughout the year. It provides a rigorous curriculum through which students will gain tools and insights they can immediately apply to advance their careers.

Through courses in ethical and responsible data usage, machine learning, business strategy formulation, data visualization and storytelling, and more, students will gain a variety of technical and leadership skills to add value in a dynamic workplace. Topics such as artificial intelligence, applied statistics, and business and technology management will be examined. Students will have the opportunity to apply AI and analytics methodologies and techniques to identify opportunities and solve business challenges.
