A Decade of Growth and Impact

Bovard College has launched seven graduate degrees, each designed to meet emerging global workforce needs.

Students complete their degrees virtually from 40+ different states and around the world.

Students work across industries including Fortune 500 companies and for the U.S. military and local, state and national government.

Bovard College now has nearly 4,000 alumni, a fast-growing network of leaders within USC’s community of more than 500,000 alums worldwide.

Nearly 15% of students have a military affiliation: veterans, active military or military dependents.

Bovard College now has more than 140 faculty who combine academic expertise with real-world experience.

A Decade of Milestones

2016

  • USC Bovard College is established as the university’s 22nd school by the USC Board of Trustees, with the goal of unlocking career opportunities for professionals in high-growth fields.
  • The college begins recruiting students for its inaugural program, the online MS in Human Resource Management (MSHRM), focused on preparing HR professionals for strategic leadership roles in global organizations.

2017

  • The first-ever Bovard College classes begin!
  • USC Bovard Scholars launches with a vision of supporting high-achieving, low-income students in gaining admission and securing scholarships to attend the nation’s top universities.

2018

  • Bovard College holds its first commencement.
  • The first cohort of online MS in Project Management (MSPM) students begin classes, targeting the fast-growing need for project management professionals.

2019

  • The first cohort of MSPM students graduate.
  • The first cohort of online MS in Criminal Justice (MSCJ) students start their classes to become leaders in this dynamic, intersectional field.
  • Bovard College reaches an enrollment of over 500 active students.

2020

  • The first cohort of MSCJ students graduate.
  • MSHRM students launch the USC Human Resources Management Association (HRMA), the first official USC student organization affiliated with the Bovard College.
  • Bovard College extends its success to the leadership of USC Online, a globally recognized innovator in online education that serves lifelong learners across the university through a wide array of graduate degrees and certificates.

2021

  • The first cohort of online MS in Hospitality and Tourism (MSHT) students begin classes, focusing on how to innovate and adapt through industry change.

2022

  • The first cohort of MSHT students graduate.
  • The first cohort of online MS in Emergency Management (MSEM) students begin classes, responding to a growing need for strategically trained emergency management professionals.
  • Bovard College reaches 100 active scholar-practitioner faculty members across diverse sectors.

2023

  • The first cohort of MSEM students graduate.

2024

  • The first Bovard College cohort of MMLIS students graduate.
  • MMLIS students launch the USC Student Chapter of the American Library Association (ALASC).
  • MSPM students launch the Project Management Institute of Los Angeles (PMI-LA) Student Chapter.

2026

  • Bovard College celebrates a decade of growth and student success!
  • The first cohort of online MS in Applied Analytics (MSAA) students begin classes, equipping themselves to integrate generative AI into their workflows to steer innovative data management.
  • Selection begins for the 10th cohort of Bovard Scholars.
