Don Hummer

Don Hummer has over two decades’ experience as an educator and researcher in the criminal justice field. He has developed and instructed online courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels for major university systems including Penn State and the University of Massachusetts. He holds a PhD from Michigan State University, and he is the editor of two books and the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and research reports and monographs.

Don’s research interests are broadly focused on policy analysis, violence, and the implications of technological advances for justice system actors. He frequently lends his expertise on prison violence, technology in the criminal justice system, and crime on college campuses to national media outlets.
