Andrzej Rutkowski

Andrzej Rutkowski serves as the Head of the University of Southern California (USC) Library for International and Public Affairs. In his dual role as the Visualization Librarian for USC Libraries, he leads a team of librarians and staff in providing resources, collections, and services that support interdisciplinary scholarship in public policy, urban studies, geographic information systems (GIS), visualization, and data research. Andrzej strives to make an impact by promoting spatial and visual methods across academic disciplines. He is dedicated to designing and implementing new resources and programming for students, faculty, staff, and community members that foster critical thinking in a data-driven research environment. Andrzej is particularly interested in advocating for the ethical and critical use of data and visualization tools in academic research.

Andrzej holds a BA in philosophy from the University of Vermont. He completed both an MA in humanities and social thought in the Draper Program and an MA in trauma and violence transdisciplinary studies at New York University. He earned his MS in library and information science from the Palmer School at Long Island University.
