Audrey Barbakoff

Audrey Barbakoff is the founder and CEO of Co/lab Capacity LLC, where she helps libraries and social good organizations build capacity to center community through consulting and training. She has more than a decade of experience working in a variety of librarian and management roles in public libraries across the United States. Her innovative work and commitment to supporting the future of libraries have been recognized by Library Journal’s Movers & Shakers, the Urban Libraries Council, and the Freedom to Read Foundation. Audrey’s service leadership includes two terms on the Council of the American Library Association (“ALA”), chairing ALA’s Intellectual Freedom Round Table, co-chairing ALA’s Emerging Leaders program, and serving on ALA’s Board of the Library Leadership and Management Association (now “Core”) and in the ALA Policy Corps. 

Audrey earned a BFA from the University of Illinois, an MLIS from the University of Washington, and an EdD in organizational change and leadership from USC’s Rossier School of Education. She is the author of “The 12 Steps to a Community-Led Library” (ALA Editions, 2023) and “Adults Just Wanna Have Fun: Programs for Emerging Adults” (ALA Editions, 2016), as well as several children’s books.
