Cindy Guyer is an experienced information professional and educator with a passion for integrating education technologies, data analytics, and artificial intelligence applications in the legal sector. She currently serves as a senior knowledge & research analyst at O’Melveny & Myers, the oldest law firm in Los Angeles. In this role, Cindy conducts legal and business research to support over 700 attorneys and staff worldwide. She collaborates with a diverse team of librarians and information technologists to evaluate and implement artificial intelligence tools across the firm. Cindy is also an accomplished educator with over 20 years of teaching experience in higher education. She served as a senior law librarian and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Southern California (USC). At USC, she was selected for the Center for Excellence in Teaching’s Faculty Fellows Leadership Institute, a program that guides senior faculty to become teacher leaders.
Cindy earned both a BA and JD from USC and received her MLIS from San Jose State University. She is also a licensed attorney in California. An active member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and its local chapter, Cindy has presented at several conferences and mentored numerous students and new librarians. Her professional contributions cover a multitude of topics including copyright law, instructional pedagogies, and accessibility services.
