Jenna Kammer is an associate professor of practice and the Program Director for USC’s MMLIS program. Prior to joining USC, Jenna served as an associate professor of library science and program coordinator. She was responsible for numerous internal and external grants and received several honors, including the College of Education Faculty Scholarship Award and the Faculty Scholar Award. Throughout her career, Jenna has also worked as an instructional designer in higher education and held various leadership positions in public and academic libraries. She also served as an advisor for the Public Library Association’s Digital Literacy Advisory Group and as a member of the Missouri Open Education Resources State Action Team.
Jenna holds a BA in cultural studies and visual arts from Prescott College, an MLS from the University of Arizona, an MA in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in learning technologies from New Mexico State University, and a PhD in information science and learning technologies from the University of Missouri. Her research focuses on the intersection of information, policy, and people, with particular interests in learning in libraries, digital literacy, resource sharing, and collaboration. For her scholarship, Jenna has received the American Association of School Librarians Research Paper Award by the Educators of School Librarians Section. She has served as a co-guest editor for several journals including the Journal of Information Policy and New Directions for Teaching and Learning. She is also the co-editor of Integrating Digital Literacy in the Disciplines (Routledge) and co-author of Digital Literacy Made Simple (ISTE Publications) and Digital Literacy in Public Libraries (ALA Editions).
