Shannon Robinson

Shannon serves as the Head of the Architecture and Fine Arts Library at the University of Southern California (USC). Prior to her position at USC Libraries, she was the Assistant Director of the Fisher Fine Arts Library at the University of Pennsylvania and has worked at several institutions as an art, architecture, and design subject specialist and educator. Shannon’s research interests focus on the intersectionality between information behaviors of artists and designers and the application of arts-based research and speculative design methodologies to library science.

Shannon completed her BA at Montclair State University where she graduated magna cum laude. She earned an MFA from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University and an MLIS from Drexel University. Shannon actively contributes to advancing the art librarianship profession through journal publications, conference presentations, and national service. She is a current member of the Executive Board for the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) and serves as the Education Liaison for the organization.
