Crystal Smith

Crystal M. Smith has over 20 years of experience in project management, construction, corporate real estate, cost analysis, and quality control. In her career, she has managed projects in over a dozen cities in the United States and served on international assignments in the Netherlands. She currently serves as Senior Project Director in corporate real estate at Duke Energy Corporation where she spearheaded the construction of a 40-story tower in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her responsibilities included managing the construction team and ensuring budget adherence and cost change control while driving the project schedule and overall project execution.

Crystal earned a BS in civil engineering systems from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida. She is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a LEED Accredited Professional (AP) in Building Design and Construction (BD+C). Crystal is also a member of the Project Management Institute, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Society of Women Engineers as well as a lifetime member of the National Society of Black Engineers. Additionally, she was named CoreNet Global Carolinas Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year for 2024.
