LuAnn Leighton has over 20 years’ experience in information technology (IT) and project management. She has a diverse background leading complex IT project initiatives within the financial, healthcare, and federal government sectors. She currently works at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where her mission is to support beneficiaries who use Medicare and Medicaid by implementing solutions that provide them with cost-effective care and overall better health outcomes. LuAnn understands the important role of stakeholders during the project lifecycle and strives to meet their expectations by delivering project value. Through the years, she has identified opportunities to implement continuous improvement, which significantly supports the increased quality of care for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries.
LuAnn earned a BS in business administration with a minor in information technology from the University of Baltimore and an MS in applied information technology from Towson University. She enjoys teaching and giving back to the community. She has taught at Bowie State University and University of Maryland, University College, with a collective 12 years of teaching expertise.
